About Us
About Thorium Norway AS
Founded in 2015, Thorium Norway AS is dedicated to developing innovative industries to meet the increasing demand for Thorium (Th 232). Backed by approximately 140 private investors, our company is on a mission to transform thorium-containing mining waste from the Fen area into valuable products for the nuclear power and pharmaceutical industries. Our goal is to spearhead a new industrial adventure in Norway, responsibly managing low-radioactive materials and establishing a sustainable industry.
Our Project
In collaboration with Bilfinger Tebodin Netherlands and Thor Energy AS, we have successfully completed a feasibility study to establish a factory capable of producing eight products aimed at the nuclear power and pharmaceutical markets. Designed to handle around 1,200 tons of finished products annually, our factory will focus on converting thorium, a byproduct from the Fen area, into essential materials. We are currently seeking suitable land for our factory, poised to become the first commercial entity to utilize thorium byproducts from the Fen area.
Our Factory
Our modern industrial facility will not only focus on chemical processing but will also house cutting-edge research laboratories. These labs will drive product development for the growing global energy and medical markets. Spanning approximately 4,500 m² with an additional 5,500 m² for raw material storage, our facility will employ around 75 full-time staff, including administrative and research personnel.
Strategic Partnerships
Our journey is supported by strong partnerships with both national and international entities throughout our value chain. We have secured key agreements, including with REE Minerals AS for exclusive rights to thorium extracted from their future mining activities in the Fen area. Our technological advancements have been propelled by our partnership with Thor Energy AS, while collaborations with international raw material suppliers and customers are accelerating our factory establishment in Norway.
